Ici ou Là Festival

Theater at the heart of the villages

Created in 2021, the Ici ou Là festival is a traveling theater event that transforms the villages of the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs into performance stages. For three days at the end of September, theater companies take over squares, gardens, parks, and community halls to offer free performances close to the residents.

A Diverse Program

The Ici ou Là festival's program is characterized by its diversity and accessibility:

• Street Theater: outdoor performances that interact with the architecture and environment of the villages, creating a unique proximity between artists and spectators.
• Shows for Young Audiences: performances adapted for children and families, offered on Sunday mornings.
• Contemporary Theater: plays and performances that question the world with inventiveness and poetry.
• Circus and Dance Performances: multidisciplinary companies that blend circus arts and theater.

2025 Edition: A Successful Fifth Year

The 5th edition (September 26-28, 2025) featured seven shows spread across seven different municipalities: Cattenom, Rodemack, Escherange, Roussy-le-Village, Puttelange-lès-Thionville, Breistroff-la-Grande, and Gavisse. Among the invited companies: Cie La Gigogne (Nancy), Cie En Lacets (Reims), Cie Mister Fred, le Collectif des Pièces Détachées, Cie Le Tonnelet, and L'Ouvre-Boîtes (Metz).

An Associative and Inter-municipal Partnership

The festival is the result of a collaboration between the CCCE and the Association Jeunesse des 3 Villages (J3V). This partnership ensures strong local roots and volunteer involvement in the various municipalities. The CCCE provides financial and logistical support, while J3V contributes to on-site organization.

Educational Component

In the lead-up to the festival, an educational week is organized in the territory's schools. Invited companies lead theater workshops in eight CCCE schools, allowing students to discover the performing arts and prepare for their festival visit.

Free and Accessible

All performances at the Ici ou Là festival are offered with free admission, by reservation via the Weezevent platform. This policy allows us to reach a large and diverse audience, from families to theater enthusiasts, in a rural border region.
