Free classical music concerts in the towns of Pays Mosellan
The Printemps Musical en Pays Mosellan is a classical and chamber music festival organized each year in March by the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs in partnership with the association Chants et Musiques en Pays Mosellan. Over three consecutive weekends, free concerts are offered in various towns in the area, highlighting the local built heritage — churches, community halls, and characterful venues — while offering the public a high-quality musical program accessible to all.
Since 2008, the Printemps Musical en Pays Mosellan has celebrated the arrival of spring with music in the towns of the Communauté de Communes de Cattenom et Environs (CCCE). This traveling classical and chamber music festival takes over six to eight towns in the region each year over three consecutive weekends in March.
The festival offers a high-quality musical program highlighting classical and baroque repertoire, chamber music, choral singing, and sometimes excursions into jazz or world music. Invited artists — soloists, ensembles, and orchestras — are selected for their artistic excellence and their ability to create a connection with the audience.
One of the unique features of Printemps Musical is its use of heritage sites in the region for its concerts:
The festival is the result of a strong partnership between the CCCE and the association Chants et Musiques en Pays Mosellan. This collaboration between a local authority and a passionate cultural association ensures both the necessary logistical and financial support and a constant artistic rigor in the programming.
True to its mission of cultural democratization, Printemps Musical offers all its concerts with free admission, upon reservation. This access policy allows it to reach a wide audience, from seasoned music lovers to curious newcomers, and contributes to the cultural vibrancy of a rural area bordering Luxembourg and Germany.
With its 18th edition in 2025, the Printemps Musical en Pays Mosellan has successfully built a loyal and enthusiastic audience. Each edition attracts several hundred spectators across the various concerts, demonstrating the residents' attachment to this musical event that has become an essential spring tradition in Pays Mosellan.
