The Festival International du Cirque en Touraine: The Magic of the Circus in Sorigny
The Festival International du Cirque en Touraine is a spectacular event that takes place every autumn in Sorigny, a town located south of Tours, near the Family Park amusement park. Organized by Imperial Show, this festival hosts around thirty world-renowned artists under an immense 2,500-seat heated big top for breathtaking shows in the purest tradition of international circus.
Europe's Largest Big Top
One of the festival's unique features is its monumental big top, presented as the largest in Europe. This impressive structure, set up in the parking lot of Family Park, offers 2,500 heated seats, ensuring optimal comfort for spectators regardless of the weather. The size of the big top allows for large-scale aerial acts and creates a grand, traditional circus atmosphere.
World-Renowned Artists
Each edition of the festival brings together around thirty artists from all over the world for a two-hour show that encompasses all disciplines of traditional circus. Trapeze artists, tightrope walkers, clowns, acrobats, dog acts, and many other specialties take to the ring to amaze spectators of all ages. The selection of artists aims for excellence and international appeal, featuring acts awarded at major circus festivals worldwide.
A Family Event During the Holidays
The festival traditionally takes place during the All Saints' Day school holidays, offering families an exceptional outing during this period. The program is designed to appeal to all ages, from the youngest delighted by clowns to adults impressed by acrobatic feats. Ticket prices are kept accessible, with free admission for children under two years old.
Sorigny, at the Crossroads of Touraine
Sorigny is ideally located on the Tours-Poitiers axis, accessible from the A10 motorway. Its proximity to Family Park, a family amusement park, allows visitors to combine the circus with recreational activities. The site benefits from ample free parking and good accessibility, contributing to the festival's appeal for families throughout the Centre-Val de Loire region.
