About Récréaction Festival
Récréaction is a youth film festival held in Monts, Indre-et-Loire. It is organized by the Les Tontons Filmeurs association in partnership with the town of Monts and the Touraine Vallée de l'Indre community of municipalities. Over several days, the event offers children a variety of short film screenings, hands-on audiovisual workshops (including stop motion, sound effects, scriptwriting, and makeup), and special meetings, culminating in a vote where young viewers choose their favorite films.
Récréaction Festival — edition 2026
For one week, RécréAction introduces children aged 3-12 to the world of cinema in Monts and Montbazon. The program features animated short films in competition preceded by drop-in workshops, the "Nuages" cine-concert by Cie SZ, a book-to-film session, and workshops on writing, filming, editing, and sound design.

- 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM — Animated short film screenings for schools in Monts and Montbazon · Cinéma Le Générique (Montbazon) and Espace culturel Jean Cocteau (Monts) · School groups only
Saturday, October 17th, 2026
- 2:00 PM — Book-to-Film session: screening of a film adapted from a book · Cinéma Le Générique, Montbazon · Open to all, tickets available at the cinema
- 5:00 PM–10:30 PM — Teen session: film dubbing, dinner, and short film screenings · La Grange Rouge, Montbazon · Free, reserved for registered members of the Touraine Vallée de l'Indre community youth centers
Sunday, October 18th, 2026
- 9:30 AM–12:00 PM — For ages 3-6: 1-hour drop-in artistic workshops (trash-art, stop motion, writing, sound effects, light painting, etc.), followed by a screening of animated short films in competition · Espace culturel Jean Cocteau, Monts · €5 per person
- 2:00 PM–5:00 PM — For ages 7-12: same 1-hour drop-in workshops, followed by a screening of animated short films in competition · Espace culturel Jean Cocteau, Monts · €5 per person

- 10:00 AM–11:30 AM and 2:30 PM–4:00 PM — Advanced audiovisual workshops: writing, filming, editing, sound design · La Grange Rouge, Montbazon · 1.5-hour sessions, 12 people max, ages 7 and up · €5 per person, online booking required
Program published by the organizer on September 14th, 2026. Aimed at children aged 3-12 and their families; sessions are split between Monts and Montbazon.
