Every year at the end of October, the Château d'Azay-le-Ferron transforms to host its special Halloween day. Located in the heart of the Brenne Regional Natural Park, this Renaissance castle and its magnificent listed gardens offer an exceptional setting for celebrating Halloween with family.
Activities for all ages
The day offers a program full of surprises and thrills. Children can participate in a great candy hunt in the park throughout the day, get terrifying makeup (from 10 am, 2 euros), listen to scary stories, and watch an evil puppet show. Adults are not left out with special activities and a carefully prepared Halloween atmosphere.
The Great Pumpkin Contest
The highlight of the day is the Great Pumpkin Contest. Each participant is invited to come with their most terrifying decorated pumpkin. Public voting takes place at 4 pm and the award ceremony at 5 pm. An appreciable advantage: each family that arrives with a decorated pumpkin receives a free adult entry.

The Château d'Azay-le-Ferron, owned by the city of Tours since 1951, is surrounded by a 30-hectare park including remarkable listed gardens. On the program: disgusting candy hunt, grand pumpkin contest, terrifying makeup, treasure hunt, witch stories, evil puppet show, pony rides, and rock concert. A quirky family day for all ages.

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM, Château d'Azay-le-Ferron will be adorned in Halloween colors for a big family day in its 30-hectare park and remarkable gardens, in Brenne (Indre).
