Grand international magic show in Bonchamp-lès-Laval
The Festival International Vive la Magie is the largest magic arts festival in Europe, founded in 2008. Every year, touring throughout France, it stops at the Centre Culturel Les Angenoises in Bonchamp-lès-Laval in Mayenne for a grand family show of 1h45 without interruption. Magicians from five continents present a show of contemporary, poetic, and surprising magic, accessible to all from age 5. Magic initiation workshops for children complete the program.
Created in 2008, the Festival International Vive la Magie has become over the years the largest magic arts festival in Europe. With over 30,000 spectators per year, 300 artists from five continents, and over 744 family shows presented since its creation, the festival has established a modern and poetic vision of magic, far from the clichés of the genre.
As part of its national tour, the festival stops each year at the Centre Culturel Les Angenoises in Bonchamp-lès-Laval, a 700-seat venue located on the outskirts of Laval. The grand international show, lasting 1h45 without interruption, brings together internationally renowned magicians on stage for a show combining grand illusions, close-up magic, mentalism, and poetic magic.
The strength of the festival lies in the diversity of its artists, coming from Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa. Each edition offers a new show with a new cast, ensuring a renewed experience year after year. The festival's founder summarizes the event's philosophy: “Don't understand anything and love it!”
In addition to the main show, the festival offers magic initiation workshops for children, led by professional magicians. These workshops allow younger attendees to discover the basics of the magical art and leave with a few tricks up their sleeves.
Accessible from age 5, the Vive la Magie main show appeals to both children and adults. The magic presented is contemporary, elegant, and surprising, evoking wonder and poetry rather than crude spectacular effects. The festival has received numerous awards and distinctions for the quality of its programming.
The 18th edition of the Festival International Vive la Magie is scheduled for autumn 2026 at the Centre Culturel Les Angenoises in Bonchamp-lès-Laval. The grand international magic show of 1h45 will feature magicians from five continents.
