The 46th edition of the Montpellier Danse Festival takes place from June 20 to July 4, 2026 (with a Prelude starting June 11), in Montpellier and throughout the metropolitan area. A leading international contemporary dance festival, the 2026 edition offers 14 world premieres and French premieres led by the new collegiate direction.
From June 20 to July 4, 2026, the Montpellier Danse Festival celebrates its 46th edition throughout the Montpellier metropolitan area. A Prelude weekend opens the event starting June 11, notably at the Théâtre de la Mer in Sète.
This edition is led by a new collegiate direction bringing together Jann Gallois, Dominique Hervieu, Pierre Martinez, and Hofesh Shechter. In total, the festival presents about thirty shows spread over sixty performances, with regional, national, and international companies, as well as 14 world premieres and French premieres.
Several free events punctuate the festival: the Grandes Leçons de Danse (Great Dance Lessons) in public spaces (from June 22 to July 4), the installation by Christian Rizzo & Caty Olive, and the In Situ creation by Jann Gallois. A new family program (parent-child workshops and shows) makes its appearance in 2026.
Ticket sales opened on April 10, 2026; tickets are available via the official website of Agora, Cité Internationale de la Danse.
