Discover Southern Morvan in March
Southern Morvan in March offers a peaceful and rejuvenating setting. It's the beginning of spring in Morvan, the first flowers appear, and nature awakens. Take advantage of your stay to hike in the forests and hills of Morvan, visit the Musée du Septennat in Château-Chinon, or discover the characteristic villages of the region. Morvan gastronomy is generous: Morvan ham, Charolais beef, cheeses, and liqueurs.
Festival No Mad: Folk and Trad Musical Exploration in Morvan
Every year in March, the town of Moulins-Engilbert, in the heart of southern Morvan, hosts the Festival No Mad, an original musical event dedicated to folk, traditional, and musical exploration music. In an intimate and warm atmosphere, the festival brings together musicians and enthusiasts around a shared passion for traditional music.
A Festival for Enthusiasts and the Curious
The Festival No Mad is aimed at both passionate folk and trad music lovers and curious individuals seeking musical discoveries. The program mixes renowned French folk scene acts with artists exploring new sounds, creating a space for encounter between tradition and musical innovation.
A Rich Program
The festival offers:
- Concerts of folk, traditional, and world music
- Folk dances open to all, from beginners to experienced dancers
- Musical encounters and exchanges between artists and the public
- Spontaneous sessions and jam sessions
Growing Success
The Festival No Mad is experiencing growing popularity. In 2024, the opening night was sold out, a sign of the public's interest in this winter musical event. The choice of March, at the beginning of spring, allows for a cultural event outside the summer festival season, thus enlivening the Morvan winter.
Moulins-Engilbert, Land of Festivals
The Festival No Mad is part of the remarkable cultural dynamism of Moulins-Engilbert, a town that also hosts the Moulins en Scène festival in the summer and La Ronde des Arts en Morvan in August. This cultural richness reflects the associative vitality and the commitment of the inhabitants of this small Morvan town to culture and performing arts.
