About Autun Historical Days

Since 2019, the Journées Historiques d'Autun have brought together hundreds of reenactors at the Roman theatre of Autun in Saône-et-Loire. The event spans a vast historical timeline, covering the Gallo-Roman era, the Viking age, the Middle Ages, the French Empires, the American Civil War and the Wild West, as well as both World Wars.

Organized by the Centre d'Histoire Vivante d'Autun in partnership with the De Taille et d'Estoc association and the City of Autun, the event invites visitors to wander freely between historical encampments. Each era is brought to life through authentic costumes, weaponry, and everyday artifacts, alongside live demonstrations including military drills, marksmanship, and period dancing.
