The Festival of Plants and Flowers: Spring in the heart of Beaulieu-sur-Loire

Since 2022, the Festival of Plants and Flowers has been the unmissable event for gardening and nature lovers in Beaulieu-sur-Loire, in the Loiret region. Organized every year in May by the Maison du Terroir et d'Animations, this friendly event takes over the magnificent park of Maison Marret and the Place du 11 novembre for an entire day dedicated to plants, sharing, and discovery.

A Plant Market and Plant Swap

The heart of the festival beats around the plant and seedling swap, a true tradition that allows everyone to exchange cuttings, seedlings, and seeds in a spirit of sharing and conviviality. Around this swap, numerous nurserymen, horticulture professionals, associations, and local producers present their plants, creations, and expertise. A gardening flea market complements the offerings with tools, pots, and accessories for amateur and experienced gardeners.

Activities, Workshops, and Botanical Discoveries

Throughout the day, the program alternates between practical activities and moments of relaxation:

• Flower arranging workshops: learn to create your own plant arrangements for a symbolic participation of €1
• Gardening workshops: tips and techniques for maintaining your garden, starting at 9:00 AM
• Botanical exhibition: discover local and exotic varieties in the green setting of the park
• Presentation of agricultural models and equipment: rural heritage highlighted
• Children's readings: reading sessions at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM to introduce the youngest to the world of plants
• Artistic and fun activities: shows, demonstrations, and play areas for the whole family
• Conferences: talks on various topics such as the life of trees, edible wild plants, or rose cultivation

The Maison Marret Park: A Green Oasis on the Banks of the Loire

The festival takes place in the park of Maison Marret, a remarkable green space located in the heart of Beaulieu-sur-Loire. This park houses a conservatory orchard, a garden of the five senses with a plant maze, spiral aromatic plants, and a decorative rose garden that offers a palette of colors throughout the year. It is in this bucolic setting, a few steps from the Loire, that visitors stroll among the stalls, chat with exhibitors, and enjoy a warm and green atmosphere.

Catering and Conviviality

On-site catering is provided with a regional meal offered from €12, highlighting products from local producers. An original and fun activity, the "evaluation de la brouette du terroir" (evaluation of the regional wheelbarrow), punctuates lunchtime. The entire event takes place in a family-friendly and accessible spirit, with welcome facilities for groups, on-site restrooms, and pets allowed.

Supported by the volunteers of the Maison du Terroir et d'Animations, the Festival of Plants and Flowers is part of the dynamic of valuing the natural, gastronomic, and cultural heritage of Beaulieu-sur-Loire and the Val de Loire.
