Performing arts, nature and heritage in the open air in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse
FestivAl'OUT is a multidisciplinary and free festival that takes over the natural and heritage sites of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, on the outskirts of the Vallée de Chevreuse, every late August. Created in 2019 by the Town of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, the festival offers three days of artistic and cultural programming open to all ages, combining music, theater, circus, creative workshops, artisan markets, and nature walks. The originality of FestivAl'OUT lies in its choice of performance venues: public garden, Beauséjour lake, Beauplan clearing, nature reserve, De Coubertin, Raymond Devos, and Marta Pan foundations, which reveal the natural and cultural richness of this protected territory.
Since 2019, FestivAl'OUT has transformed the town of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse into an open-air festival village every late August, where performing arts meet nature and heritage. This free and multidisciplinary festival, supported by the Town of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, was born from the desire to create a festive and cultural event that highlights the exceptional natural and heritage riches of this territory located on the edge of the Parc naturel régional de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse.
One of FestivAl'OUT's most striking singularities is its choice of performance venues. Instead of a single site, the festival takes over a mosaic of natural and heritage spaces scattered throughout the town: the public garden for concerts and family shows, Beauséjour lake for lakeside performances, the Beauplan clearing for shows in the heart of the forest, the nature reserve for guided walks, and the prestigious De Coubertin, Raymond Devos, and Marta Pan foundations for artistic creations in exceptional settings.
FestivAl'OUT's programming is distinguished by its diversity and accessibility. Contemporary music concerts, street theater performances, contemporary circus acts, clown shows, and poetic and humorous performances follow one another over three days, interspersed with creative workshops, local artisan and creator markets, and nature walks to discover the flora and fauna of the Vallée de Chevreuse. The festival places particular emphasis on the younger audience, with shows and activities adapted for children.
Scheduled for the last weekend of August, FestivAl'OUT embodies the transition between holidays and the return to routine, a moment of shared conviviality before everyday life resumes. The festival highlights the strong presence of local artisans and creators, as well as artistic innovation, with shows blending poetry, humor, and creativity. In seven editions, FestivAl'OUT has established itself as a highly anticipated event for the residents of the Vallée de Chevreuse and the entire Île-de-France region.
The 8th edition of FestivAl'OUT returns to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse in late August 2026 for three days of free outdoor performances, blending nature, heritage, and performing arts.
FestivAl'OUT returns from August 28 to 30, 2026, for its 8th edition. The festival will once again take over the natural and heritage sites of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse for three days of free outdoor performances. Music, theater, circus, workshops, and nature walks will make up the program for this new edition. The detailed program will be announced during the summer of 2026.
