The mutant festival of surprising music in Tours
The Festival Super Flux is a multidisciplinary festival dedicated to surprising and unclassifiable music that takes place every spring in Tours. Co-produced by the École supérieure d'art et de design TALM-Tours, Le Petit Faucheux, and Le Temps Machine, it offers three days of sound, graphic, and audiovisual performances in emblematic venues in Tours (TALM, MAME, Petit Faucheux). Evolving, plural, playful, and innovative, Super Flux explores the boundaries between music, visual arts, and experimentation.
The Festival Super Flux is a unique event in the Tours festival scene. Born from the collaboration between three major cultural institutions in Tours — the École supérieure d'art et de design TALM-Tours, the Petit Faucheux (a venue for jazz and improvised music), and Le Temps Machine (a venue for contemporary music) — this festival explores the territories where music meets visual arts, graphic design, and performance.
Super Flux defines itself as a festival of surprising music: no dominant genre, but a constant invitation to discovery and experimentation. Pop, contemporary music, rap, jazz, experimental music, electronic music: all genres intersect and blend in performances that push the usual boundaries. The festival is described as evolving, plural, abundant, itinerant, playful, and innovative, featuring unclassifiable music that is above all surprising, electrifying, and exciting.
The festival takes over several cultural venues in Tours, creating a festival trail through the city. The spaces of ESAD TALM, MAME (a hub for creation and innovation), and Le Petit Faucheux host performances, talks, and installations. This urban itinerancy contributes to the festival's identity and allows festival-goers to discover or rediscover creative spaces in Tours.
Beyond traditional concerts, Super Flux offers sound and graphic performances, audiovisual screenings, and immersive installations. This multidisciplinary dimension, inherited from the collaboration with the TALM art school, sets the festival apart from classic music events and makes it a unique gathering for lovers of cross-disciplinary arts and experimentation.
Super Flux aims to be an accessible and open festival, intended for the curious of all backgrounds. It offers an entry point to music and artistic forms often unknown to the general public, in a spirit of sharing and conviviality. The three days of the festival provide a complete sensory experience, inviting active listening, contemplation, and participation.
