Festival Syrinx: Chamber Music and Young Talents in Tours

Since its creation in 2019, Festival Syrinx has established itself as a premier event for chamber music in Tours. Founded by Adrien Gey, this festival was born from the encounter between a passionate young musician and the majestic setting of the Château d'Artigny in Montbazon, before moving to the Tours City Hall, Place Jean-Jaurès.

An Inspired Genesis

The genesis of Festival Syrinx is intimately linked to Adrien Gey's fascination with the Château d'Artigny and its grounds. It was in this setting that the first editions took place, before the festival developed and settled in the heart of the city of Tours, thus offering better accessibility to the public and increased visibility in the Tours cultural landscape.

Exceptional Artists and Young Talents

Festival Syrinx is distinguished by the quality of its guests. Since the first edition, renowned artists such as pianist Elena Rozanova, pianist and chamber musician Éric Le Sage, violinist Sarah Nemtanu (first solo violin of the Orchestre national de France), and cellist Yovan Markovitch have shared the stage with young musicians. Cellist Edgar Moreau, one of the most brilliant soloists of his generation, was the patron of the 6th edition in 2024.

Highlighting the Centre-Val de Loire Region

One of the festival's central missions is to showcase young musicians from the Centre-Val de Loire region. The festival regularly offers a stage to promising instrumentalists, allowing them to perform before a discerning and supportive audience, alongside established artists. This approach of transmission and promotion of young talent is what makes Festival Syrinx unique.

A Demanding Chamber Music Program

The festival's programming is dedicated to the great masterpieces of chamber music, from classicism to romanticism, including French music and works from the 20th century. Sonatas, trios, quartets, and quintets are on the program for each edition, in interpretations that combine virtuosity and musical depth.

A Human-Sized Festival

Festival Syrinx cultivates an intimate and friendly atmosphere. The concerts, organized over several days in the autumn, allow for interaction between musicians and the audience, in the spirit of a festival that places encounter and sharing at the heart of its approach. The association Musicale Syrinx, which supports the festival, is driven by the conviction that chamber music is an art of proximity and shared emotion.
