Festival Univert: Ecology in celebration in Roye
Born in 2023, Festival Univert is an innovative and committed event that has found its place in the cultural landscape of the Somme. Driven by the City of Roye, this festival stands out for its cross-cutting approach to the environment, combining perspectives from science, art, and citizen participation.
A thematic and evolving festival
Each edition of Festival Univert revolves around a strong environmental theme. The fourth edition, in 2026, explores reuse and the circular economy, inviting participants to rethink their relationship with consumption and waste. Previous editions have addressed other facets of the ecological transition, building a body of reflections and concrete actions over the years.
A multidisciplinary program
Festival Univert offers an ambitious program that refuses to divide culture and science:
- Market of local producers: farmers, market gardeners, and artisans from the Picardy region present their short-circuit products, promoting responsible and local food.
- Participatory workshops: repair, composting, homemade cleaning products, ecological gardening, and upcycling workshops allow visitors to leave with concrete skills.
- Shows: theater companies, musicians, and artists offer creations related to nature and the environment, combining poetry, humor, and commitment.
- Films and debates: screenings of documentaries followed by round tables with researchers, activists, and field actors fuel reflection and dialogue.
- Guided tours: discovery of the natural and architectural heritage of Roye and its surroundings, with a focus on local ecological issues.
A committed territorial anchoring
Roye, a small town in Santerre in the heart of the Picardy plain, has made the environment a strong focus of its municipal policy. Festival Univert is part of this dynamic, driven by the City's environmental department and supported by institutional and associative partners in the region. The event contributes to making Roye a center for environmental awareness in the east of the Somme.
