WEE!: Electro in all its forms in Poitiers
Born in 2013 from the common desire of the TAP — Scène nationale de Grand Poitiers and Le Confort Moderne, the WEE! festival — a playful acronym for "We and You" — was conceived to showcase the complex and multiple nature of electronic music at a time when it was emerging from its niche audience. In over a decade of existence, WEE! has established itself as one of the major cultural events of the Pictavian winter, attracting a curious and passionate audience from all over Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
A unique concept between show and party
WEE!'s uniqueness lies in its transdisciplinary approach to electro. Far from being limited to DJ sets, the festival boldly combines formats: live concerts by artists from the French and international electronic scene, electronic naps inviting the audience to an immersive listening experience while lying down, choreographic performances inspired by club culture, film screenings, round tables, and artist meet-and-greets. Each edition entrusts the artistic direction of part of the programming to an invited label or collective, bringing a fresh and committed perspective to contemporary electronic aesthetics.
Emblematic venues of Poitiers brought together
WEE! takes over several major cultural spaces in Poitiers: the Théâtre Auditorium de Poitiers (TAP) for concerts and shows, Le Confort Moderne for club nights and live performances, La Luna for extended electronic nights, and Lieu Multiple at Espace Mendès France for experimental sound creations. This network of venues allows the festival to deploy a rich and varied program, transforming the city into a true musical journey for four days.
A demanding and inclusive program
Over the years, WEE! has hosted leading artists such as Arnaud Rebotini, Chloé, Maud Geffray, Rebeka Warrior, Shlømo, Léonie Pernet, Lucie Antunes, Superpoze, Ron Morelli, and Simo Cell. The festival champions a committed program, highlighting female artists and queer collectives on the electronic scene, while offering accessible formats such as sound naps and musical brunches. This inclusive and activist approach makes WEE! a unique event in the French festival landscape.
Strong territorial roots
Supported by the two pillars of Poitiers' musical life — the TAP and Le Confort Moderne — and by partners such as Lieu Multiple, the collective Technogramma, Radio Pulsar, Plexus Records, and White Babel, the WEE! festival actively contributes to the cultural influence of Grand Poitiers and the Vienne region. By offering an ambitious program at affordable prices in the heart of winter, WEE! helps to democratize electronic music and warm up the city with bass, samples, and captivating rhythms.
