The festival of beautiful and rebellious song
Festiv'en Marche is a French song festival that takes place every year around the Pentecost weekend in Mouhet, in the south of Indre. Created in 2011 by singer Éric Laurent, this festival celebrates "beautiful and rebellious song" in a barn converted into a 150-seat performance venue. Recognized among the ten most important song festivals nationally, it offers discovery evenings, concerts, shows for young audiences, and the final of the Chanson de Paroles competition.
Festiv'en Marche is a festival dedicated to French song with lyrics, born in 2011 from the initiative of singer Éric Laurent. Located in the village of Mouhet, in the south of Indre, in the Marche occitane region, this festival has become in a few years an unmissable event for lovers of demanding and committed French-language song.
The concerts take place in a barn converted into a performance venue with a capacity of 150 seats, offering a rare intimacy between the artists and the audience. This proximity is one of the festival's strengths: it allows for authentic exchanges and moments of musical grace in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Each edition of Festiv'en Marche offers a rich and varied program: discovery evenings, concerts by established artists, shows for young audiences, documentary screenings, exhibitions, and singing walks. The festival has hosted renowned artists such as Juliette, Jean Guidoni, Gérard Morel, Liz Van Deuq, and many emerging talents of French song.
A highlight of the festival, the Chanson de Paroles competition helps to discover new talents in song with lyrics. The public final takes place during the festival, offering candidates a quality stage and national visibility. Gauvain Sers, who has become one of the most popular French singers, won this competition in 2014, demonstrating the quality of the springboard offered.
Supported by the association Festiv'en Marche, founded in 2014, the festival radiates far beyond the village of Mouhet. Throughout the year, the association organizes jazz concerts, themed evenings, cabarets, and school meetings in the Marche occitane and the Val de l'Anglin, contributing to cultural life in rural areas.
