About Fest'Trail Causses & Rougier
The Fest'Trail Causses & Rougier invites runners to explore the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park, starting from Saint-Affrique in Aveyron. With four routes ranging from an 8 km prologue to a 50 km ultra, the race winds through the stunning landscapes of the causse and the Rougier, passing by the Château de Montaigut and the Rocher de Caylus, a former stronghold of the Counts of Saint-Affrique.
Organized by the Natur'Events association since 2018, the event prides itself on showcasing local produce at its aid stations and post-race meals.
Fest'Trail Causses & Rougier — edition 2026
The 2026 edition features four distances, ranging from an 8 km prologue to a 50 km ultra, set between the causse and the Rougier of Aveyron. Sunday's runners will set off from the Château de Montaigut in Gissac, making their way to Saint-Affrique via the Loubière plateau, the village of Lapeyre, and the Versolet valley.

Four courses are on the schedule for September 19 and 20, 2026, with starts or finishes in Saint-Affrique.
Saturday, September 19
- The Prologue — 8 km, 300 m elevation gain · start and finish at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, Saint-Affrique · passing by the Rocher de Caylus
Sunday, September 20
- La Draille — 15 km, 500 m elevation gain · start at Château de Montaigut (Gissac), finish at the Saint-Affrique village hall
- La Montaigut — 30 km, 1,350 m elevation gain · start at Château de Montaigut (Gissac), finish at the Saint-Affrique village hall · passing through the Loubière plateau and the village of Lapeyre
- La Cardabelle — 50 km, 2,300 m elevation gain · start at Château de Montaigut (Gissac), finish at the Saint-Affrique village hall · passing through the Versolet valley and the heights of Vabres
Start times have not yet been released by the organizers.
Practical information — Fest'Trail Causses & Rougier
The Saturday prologue starts and finishes at the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville in Saint-Affrique. The three Sunday races begin at the Château de Montaigut in Gissac and finish at the Saint-Affrique village hall (salle des fêtes).
