The Mirabelle, Lorraine's King Fruit

Every year at the end of August, the Trois-Maisons district in Nancy transforms into a true festive village to celebrate the mirabelle plum, this small golden fruit that is the pride of all of Lorraine. The Fête de la Mirabelle de Nancy, organized by the Commune Libre des Trois-Maisons, is one of the oldest and most popular events in the district.

A Popular Heritage

Created in the 1950s, the Fête de la Mirabelle perpetuates a tradition of typically Nancy neighborhood festivals. The Commune Libre des Trois-Maisons, a historic festive association, orchestrates the event with the help of numerous neighborhood associations and the support of the City of Nancy. The atmosphere is resolutely popular and intergenerational.

On the Program

The festive weekend offers a rich and varied program:

  • Parade of flower-adorned floats through the district streets, the highlight of the festival
  • Election of the Mirabelle Queen among the young girls of the district
  • Tastings of mirabelle plum tarts, jams, eau-de-vie, and other Lorraine specialties
  • Concerts and popular dances animating the evenings
  • Street entertainment for all ages: games, rides, fairground stalls
  • Local producers' market showcasing Lorraine terroir products

The Trois-Maisons District in Celebration

The Trois-Maisons neighborhood, one of Nancy's oldest districts, adorns itself in its finest colors for the occasion. The streets are decorated, the terraces are open, and the atmosphere is festive. It's a special moment of social cohesion where neighbors, families, and friends gather in a warm atmosphere.

The Mirabelle Plum in All Its Forms

The star fruit is featured in all its forms: tarts, jams, compotes, sorbets, eau-de-vie, and even mirabelle plum beer. Local producers and artisans present their creations, offering visitors a true gourmet tour of this unique fruit, of which Lorraine produces nearly 70% of the world's harvest.
