Every June 21, Carrières-sous-Poissy celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, students from the municipal music school, choirs, and guest artists play for free in the city's streets, squares, and esplanades. Organized by the City of Carrières-sous-Poissy, the day is entirely free and open to all.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Carrières-sous-Poissy into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from early afternoon until evening, in all genres and for all audiences.
A musical stroll throughout the city
Usually, the Yvelines commune offers a musical stroll that moves from square to square throughout the day: the town hall kiosk, central squares and esplanades, and the unique setting of the Château Éphémère-Vanderbilt, an emblematic venue for the festival in Carrières-sous-Poissy. Concerts by local bands, choirs, gospel, brass bands, and students from the municipal music school follow one another, before the end-of-day performances on the Esplanade Louis-Armand.
