Every June 21, Saint-Germain-en-Laye celebrates the Fête de la Musique: from the city center squares to La CLEF concert hall, squares and gardens transform into open stages. Organized by the City of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the day is entirely free and blends Breton dances, urban music, alternative rock, reggae, soul, and festive pop.
The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Germain-en-Laye
As everywhere in France since 1982, every June 21, the Fête de la Musique transforms the royal city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye into an open-air stage. Music freely takes over public spaces, from afternoon workshops to evening concerts, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival spread throughout the city center
The 2026 edition unfolds in several locations in the heart of the city. La CLEF concert hall opens the day with its workshops and music classes, then follows with four evening concerts. The Squares des Combattants and du Nouveau Marché host Breton dances, urban performances, and a festive orchestra, while bars and restaurants extend the atmosphere onto their terraces.
From Breton dance to dancehall, alternative rock to reggae, jazzy hip-hop to 70s-80s pop, the program embraces all styles in a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere.

The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye takes place on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge in the city center. La CLEF hall, the Square des Combattants, and the Square du Nouveau Marché host workshops, Breton dances, urban performances, and concerts, from early afternoon until evening.

Overview of the stages announced for the 2026 edition:
La CLEF — 46 rue de Mareil, 2:30 PM-10 PM
The day begins at 2:30 PM with music classes and workshops led by the teaching teams, open to the public all afternoon. From 6 PM, four concerts follow one another: La Brise du Mammouth (jazzy hip-hop), The Strugglers (reggae), Salma (soul / jazz fusion) and Figures (alternative rock).
Square des Combattants — 3:30 PM-5 PM
Demonstration and introduction to Breton dances with La CLEF's Breton dance class and the Celtic music group Lodennañ.
Square du Nouveau Marché — 6:30 PM-10 PM
- 6:30 PM-8 PM: performances by Soglaam students (dancehall, afro, new style).
- 8 PM-10 PM: the orchestra Groupe d'Angelo & Co, a festive and intergenerational repertoire mixing 70s-80s hits, pop, electro, and Latin tracks.
Bars, restaurants, and terraces in the city extend the musical celebration throughout the evening.
