June 21st in music in the green commune of Cergy-Pontoise
Every June 21st, the City of Vauréal and Le Forum join forces to offer a large-scale Fête de la Musique (Music Festival) in the heart of the commune. Several indoor and outdoor stages are set up at L'Antarès, on Place du Cœur Battant, at Le Forum, and in the Cour des Arts to welcome innovative or established groups and artists free of charge. The program, open to all musical styles (rock, pop, jazz, chanson, soul, world music, rap, choirs, wandering formations), is selected via a call for applications organized beforehand by Le Forum, a municipalized venue dedicated to contemporary music since 2002.
Vauréal is a residential and green commune in the Cergy-Pontoise agglomeration, known for its quality of life and numerous green spaces. Nestled in a bend of the Oise River, this town hosts the Fête de la Musique every June 21st with an eclectic and free artistic program, open to all residents and visitors. The event, which coincides with the summer solstice and the bright June evenings, takes on its full meaning in this exceptional natural setting.
The Fête de la Musique in Vauréal features a variety of musical styles reflecting the commune's cultural diversity. Local amateur bands form the core of the program, with rock, jazz, French variety, world music, and classical music groups. Music schools in the area present their students on this special day, allowing young musicians to experience the stage in front of a supportive audience. Professional artists from the agglomeration complete the program, bringing their expertise and stage presence. All concerts are free, in the spirit of sharing and cultural democratization that has been the foundation of the Fête de la Musique since its creation in 1982.
The Fête de la Musique in Vauréal takes over the commune's public spaces to bring music closer to residents. Municipal parks and gardens host acoustic concerts in an idyllic natural setting. The central square or the forecourt of cultural facilities become a large open-air stage for the evening. Wandering musicians stroll through the streets, offering impromptu mini-concerts to passers-by. This diffusion of music in public spaces, characteristic of the Fête de la Musique, creates an atmosphere of joy and conviviality that transforms the town for an entire evening.
Beyond a simple musical celebration, the Fête de la Musique in Vauréal is a powerful social connector among the commune's residents. Cultural associations, neighborhood committees, parents, and music enthusiasts collaborate to organize this event with a spirit of volunteerism and sharing. Cafes and restaurants in the commune participate by setting up musical terraces. The evening of June 21st often extends late into the night with impromptu jam sessions and musician meetups. This festive and community spirit is what makes the Fête de la Musique in Vauréal particularly endearing.

The 37th edition of the Fête de la Musique in Vauréal will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Organized jointly by the City of Vauréal and Le Forum, a municipal venue dedicated to contemporary music, it brings together several open stages in the City Center each year to celebrate the summer solstice with music. Free admission.
For its 37th edition, the Fête de la Musique in Vauréal once again takes over several emblematic locations in the City Center: L'Antarès, the Place du Cœur Battant, Le Forum, the Cour des Arts, the Esplanade Idir and the Bibliothèque des Dames Gilles. Each of these locations offers a different atmosphere, alternating between indoor stages for more subdued concerts (choirs, orchestras, acoustic formations) and open-air for more festive concerts (pop, rock, chanson, world music, soul, rap).
The 2026 program was built from a call for applications opened by the City of Vauréal and Le Forum until April 11, 2026, with notification of selected artists starting from May 15, 2026. All musical styles were accepted, and itinerant groups were particularly encouraged to animate the public's movement between the different stages. The detailed program (artists, schedules, stages) is gradually published on the official city website (vaureal.fr) and Le Forum's social media channels as the date approaches.
Co-organizer of the Fête de la Musique with the town hall, Le Forum is a municipal venue dedicated to contemporary music since 2002, located at 95 boulevard de l'Oise. With its new configuration capable of accommodating over 800 spectators, its rehearsal and recording studios, and its annex room “le Club” dedicated to emerging groups, it is a central player in the musical scene of Val-d'Oise.
Admission to all stages of the Fête de la Musique in Vauréal is free. Concerts take place both indoors (L'Antarès, Le Forum) and outdoors (Place du Cœur Battant, Cour des Arts, Esplanade Idir, Bibliothèque des Dames Gilles) in the Heart of Vauréal, generally from mid-afternoon until late at night.
