Immersive day dedicated to biodiversity at Parc Robert Guignard
The Nature Festival of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine is a festive and immersive day dedicated to the discovery of local biodiversity, organized every year in May at Parc Robert Guignard. Created in 2024, this event brings together educational workshops, a mini farm, a nature market with passionate local producers, and outdoor dining. The event is part of the national Nature Festival and aims to raise public awareness, especially among children, about the environment and the preservation of ecosystems through fun and educational activities.
Since 2024, the Municipality of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine has been organizing the Nature Festival, an immersive and festive day dedicated to discovering local biodiversity. The event takes place at Parc Robert Guignard, a green space in the town offering a preserved natural setting with its body of water, ideal for raising public awareness of the richness of Touraine's nature.
The Nature Festival offers numerous educational workshops to spark the curiosity of visitors of all ages. Children can participate in creative workshops on the theme of nature, nature costume contests, wildlife and flora observation games, and discover an educational mini farm with farm animals. Associations such as L'Arbre Voyageur, Les Anim'Maux de MΓ©lo, and Les Mille et une Paroles lead activities in the various areas.
The nature market brings together passionate local producers who offer products from organic farming and environmentally friendly practices. Honey, jams, aromatic plants, herbal teas, natural cosmetics, and local products are presented in a friendly atmosphere. Producers share their expertise and raise visitors' awareness of the challenges of local and sustainable production.
The day is punctuated by a moment of gourmet conviviality with outdoor dining. Visitors can enjoy a country meal in the park, by the water, in a relaxed and bucolic atmosphere. An opportunity to extend the day with friends or family in a soothing natural setting.
The Nature Festival is part of the national Nature Festival, an annual event created in 2007 to allow everyone to rediscover the nature around us. In Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, the event focuses on raising awareness among young audiences through fun and educational activities, continuing the town's commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of its natural heritage.
