About Fête Agricole JA

The Eure-et-Loir Agriculture Festival is the major annual event hosted by the department's Young Farmers association (JA 28). The location changes every year: a local JA branch organizes the event on land loaned by a member, offering the public a chance to discover the world of farming through combine harvester racing, a local producers' market, an exhibitor village, and a petting zoo.

Recent locations include: Guillonville (2023), Écrosnes (2024), Thiron-Gardais (2025, under the name Fête Agricole de Thiron-Gardais), and Villancien, in the commune of Bonneval (2026). According to local press, the most successful editions attract over 7,000 visitors.

Fête Agricole JA — edition 2026

The Eure-et-Loir Agriculture Festival is setting up its machinery in Villancien, in the commune of Bonneval, on September 12th and 13th. Saturday evening kicks off the weekend with a guinguette featuring live music and a DJ, while Sunday is packed with combine harvester racing, a farmers' market, sports demonstrations, and a petting zoo.

The 2026 edition is hosted by the Bonneval Young Farmers' chapter on land owned by Christophe Préhu in Villancien, the same site that hosted the event back in 1988. A year of preparation has gone into the event, which features around a hundred exhibitors and partners, along with a small forum for local associations.

The official Sunday visit brings together elected officials, state representatives, and leaders of professional organizations. According to Horizons, the event has attracted over 7,000 visitors.

Practical information

Practical information — Fête Agricole JA

Location

The site changes annually. In 2026, the festival will take place in Villancien, in the commune of Bonneval (28800), on a plot of land loaned by a member. The exact location for each edition is announced by the Eure-et-Loir Young Farmers and the local press.

Hours

Saturday evening is dedicated to the party (free entry in 2026, starting at 7:00 PM). On Sunday, the festival is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in 2026.

On-site

Refreshments and food are available on-site, including a local-produce meal on Sunday. As the event takes place on farmland, appropriate footwear is recommended.

A traveling festival by the Young Farmers

Each year, a different branch of the Eure-et-Loir Young Farmers hosts the festival, with members handling the bulk of the preparations before the harvest season begins. The venue changes with every edition: Brou in 2019, Guillonville in 2023, Écrosnes in 2024 (returning to the Maintenon area after eighteen years), Thiron-Gardais in 2025, and Villancien, near Bonneval, in 2026. Villancien previously hosted the event in 1988, on a plot of land owned by the same family.

What to expect

The main attraction is the "moiss-batt-cross," a race featuring modified vintage combine harvesters, with both men's and women's heats. Surrounding the track, you will find a local producers' market, a village for partners and exhibitors (dealerships, professional organizations, associations), an exhibition of vintage machinery, a petting zoo, and activities for children.

Saturday evening festivities

In recent years, the festival has kicked off on Saturday evening: a country-style meal with roast pork and fireworks in Thiron-Gardais in 2025, and a "guinguette"-style party with live music and a DJ in Villancien in 2026. Sunday remains the highlight, featuring an official visit from local elected officials and agricultural representatives in the morning.

The organizers

The festival is managed by the Eure-et-Loir Young Farmers and the host branch. It provides young farmers with the opportunity to showcase their profession to the general public and connect with local representatives.
