The spring meeting for garden enthusiasts at Château de Cheverny
The Fête des Plantes de Cheverny is a major horticultural event organized every spring in the park of Château de Cheverny by the Rotary Club Blois Sologne and the Société d'Horticulture du Loir-et-Cher. For over twenty editions, this unmissable event has brought together more than a hundred exhibitors—nursery owners, horticulturists, artisans, and creators—from all over France and Europe to present their finest varieties of plants, shrubs, roses, and perennials. The event attracts around 11,000 visitors and mobilizes about a hundred volunteers. All profits are donated to social causes supporting humanitarian aid, disability, and health. It is a solidarity festival as much as a botanical one, set in an exceptional heritage site.
Organized every year at the beginning of spring in the park of Château de Cheverny, the Fête des Plantes has become, over more than twenty editions, one of the most important horticultural events in the Loire Valley. Supported by the Rotary Club Blois Sologne and the Société d'Horticulture du Loir-et-Cher, this event combines a passion for gardening, solidarity, and the discovery of an exceptional heritage.
Each edition brings together more than 120 exhibitors—regional, national, and European nursery owners—who present their finest plant varieties: trees, shrubs, bulbs, grasses, climbing plants, roses, perennials, aromatic and medicinal plants. You will also find original products, garden decorations, furniture, crafts, and clothing related to the world of gardening.
Visitors receive valuable gardening advice from exhibitors and members of the Société d'Horticulture. Themed workshops are offered throughout the weekend to learn how to garden while respecting biodiversity: composting, plant associations, ecological garden management, rose pruning, and many other practical topics.
The solidarity aspect is at the heart of the Fête des Plantes. All profits generated from ticket sales and the free raffle are donated to social causes supporting humanitarian aid, disability, and health. Since its creation, the Fête des Plantes has raised considerable sums for dozens of associations and solidarity projects in Loir-et-Cher and beyond.
The event attracts around 11,000 visitors each year who are passionate about gardening, nature, and heritage. It is entirely organized by a team of about 100 volunteers from the Rotary and the Société d'Horticulture, who work for several months to offer a quality weekend in the magnificent setting of the château's park.
The park of Château de Cheverny, with its French formal gardens, lawns, and shaded paths, offers an ideal natural setting for this celebration of plants. Visitors take advantage of the event to discover or rediscover this emblematic château of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Fête des Plantes takes place in the park of Château de Cheverny, avenue du Château, 41700 Cheverny. The château is located 15 km south of Blois.
All profits are donated to social and humanitarian causes.
