Over 40 years of cheese tradition
Since 1985, the Pont-l'Évêque Cheese Festival has celebrated the famous eponymous cheese and the gastronomic treasures of Normandy. Organized by the City of Pont-l'Évêque, this festival has become an unmissable event for cheese and gastronomy lovers, attracting thousands of visitors every spring to Parc du Bras d'Or.
An exceptional gastronomic fair
Nearly 100 exhibitors gather over 1,300 m² for a large market of local products. The four great Norman AOP cheeses are in the spotlight: Pont-l'Évêque, Camembert, Livarot, and Neufchâtel, accompanied by their table companions: ciders, pommeaux, calvados, wines, and spirits. Visitors also discover cured meats, jams, honey, and other regional delights.
The National Pont-l'Évêque AOP Competition
A highlight of the festival, the National Pont-l'Évêque AOP Competition rewards the best cheeses in two categories: farm processors and dairy processors. The jury's deliberations take place under the Halle des Herbages, in the presence of local elected officials and the sub-prefect of Lisieux. This competition highlights the cheesemakers' expertise and the quality of Norman productions.
Entertainment and parades
The program includes parades of Cheese Brotherhoods, guided tours of the city organized by the Office de Tourisme Terre d'Auge, an exhibition of historical Pont-l'Évêque labels, a mini-farm for children, tastings of AOP cheeses and AOC wines, concerts, and old tractor baptisms. The festival is designed for the whole family, with entertainment suitable for both young and old.
