Fête du Lac d'Éguzon — edition 2026

On Sunday, July 19th, 2026, the Fête du Lac d'Éguzon will be an event to remember: the lake is celebrating its centenary. From 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the beaches of Bonnu, Fougères, and Chambon will come alive with water sports, a jazzy brass band, a parade of illuminated boats, and artistic projections on the water, all leading up to the grand fireworks display and drone show at 11:00 PM. The night continues at Chambon with a concert by Aki Agora until 1:30 AM.

A Special Centenary Edition

Commissioned in 1926, the Éguzon dam created the Lac de Chambon, the largest body of water in the Centre-Val de Loire region. To mark its 100th anniversary, the municipalities of Cuzion, Saint-Plantaire, and Éguzon-Chantôme, in partnership with the lake's festival committee, have placed the lake at the heart of a 2026 edition promised to be "festive and spectacular." This year, the Fête du Lac is part of the official program celebrating the 100th anniversary of the dam and the Éguzon power plant, alongside exhibitions at the museums of Éguzon and Crozant and dam tours offered by EDF.

Three Beaches, One Celebration

The festivities will take place simultaneously across the beaches of Bonnu, Fougères, and Chambon from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Water activities, food, and refreshments will be available at all three sites, which visitors can explore throughout the day. The Éguzon Nautical Club will also be on hand to offer introductory sessions and first-time experiences on the water.

From Brass Band to Vintage Sets

Starting at 11:00 AM, the group Street Shouters will perform around the lake, followed by a musical parade at 4:00 PM. At 8:00 PM, DJ Minimatic will deliver a vintage set inspired by the era of the lake's birth—the same "Roaring Twenties" vibe featured on June 6th at the foot of the dam during the Barrage en fête evening.

Documentary, Fireworks, and Drones

At nightfall, a documentary about the dam will be screened simultaneously on all three beaches, following the archival film produced for the centenary. At 11:00 PM, a grand fireworks display and a drone show will light up the sky over the lake, a unique feature for this anniversary edition. The Aki Agora concert will then take over on the beach at Chambon until 1:30 AM.

A historic event on Lake Éguzon

The Fête du Lac d'Éguzon is one of the oldest and most popular summer events in the Indre department. Created in the 1950s, it celebrates the beauty of Lake Éguzon every summer, a 312-hectare reservoir formed by the dam on the Creuse river, which is the largest body of water in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

Water sports and outdoor activities

Throughout the day, from 10 am to 11 pm, the Fête du Lac offers a rich program of sports and water activities accessible to all ages and all levels. Visitors can try paddleboarding for free, discover climbing on the beach, watch sailing regattas, enjoy jet ski taster sessions, or try baby water skiing. Water sports champions regularly come to perform impressive demonstrations on the lake.

Three beaches, three atmospheres

The three municipalities bordering the lake — Éguzon-Chantôme, Cuzion, and Saint-Plantaire — participate in organizing this festive day. The beaches of Chambon, Bonnu, and Fougères each host activities and events, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy different atmospheres and move from one beach to another throughout the day.

The fireworks, the highlight of the show

The most anticipated moment of the Fête du Lac is the grand fireworks display held late in the evening over the lake. This pyrotechnic show, whose rockets are reflected on the calm waters of the lake, offers a magical panorama visible from the three beaches. The fireworks are preceded by a concert that sets the mood and brings spectators together on the lake shores to enjoy this magical moment together.

An exceptional natural setting

Lake Éguzon, nestled in the Creuse Valley, offers an exceptional natural setting with its turquoise waters bordered by cliffs and forests. The Fête du Lac is an opportunity to discover this remarkable site, certified for the quality of its bathing water, and to enjoy the natural and heritage riches of the Creuse Valley.
