The Fête du Pineau is an annual event that celebrates Pineau des Charentes, this liqueur wine made by blending grape must and cognac eau-de-vie, a symbol of the Charentais terroir. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes du Plaineau, the festival takes place under the covered market halls of the Place de la Mairie in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente, in the heart of this charming town nestled in the Charente valley.

Hearty meal and musical entertainment

The day begins at 11 AM with a hearty meal featuring Charentais specialties accompanied by pineau tastings. Musical entertainment sets the rhythm throughout the day, with local bands creating a festive and danceable atmosphere under the market halls. In 2024 and 2025, the band Florence Bobe provided the musical entertainment for the festival.
