An entire village plunged into the Middle Ages

For over twenty years, the Fete Medievale de Dignac has been one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Charente. Organized by the CAD (Comite d'Animation de Dignac), this festival transforms the entire village into a truly realistic medieval city. Streets, squares, and gardens are adorned with period decorations to welcome thousands of visitors eager to discover life in the Middle Ages.

High-level shows

The Fete Medievale de Dignac hosts professional companies from all walks of life. On the program: knight tournaments in armor, falconry shows with free-flying birds of prey, street theater, impressive four-legged stilt walkers, troubadours, and medieval musicians, barbarian encampments animated continuously. Each edition offers top-notch shows that delight young and old alike.

Craftsmanship, workshops, and medieval market

An artisan market showcases period craftsmanship: leatherwork, blacksmithing, pottery, illumination. Workshops for children (painting, making medieval objects) are offered throughout the event. A catering area with medieval-inspired dishes completes the immersion. The medieval garden maintained by the Nature section of the CAD can also be visited.
