Concert, 3D laser show and popular ball at Place du Général de Gaulle
Every year on July 13th, the town of Fontenay-aux-Roses invites its residents to a grand festive evening at Place du Général de Gaulle. On the program: open-air concert, 3D laser show with pyrotechnic effects on a water screen, and a popular ball hosted by a DJ. Free admission, with a food truck and gourmet stand area.
Fontenay-aux-Roses, a town in the Hauts-de-Seine department nestled on the southern slopes of Paris, celebrates the French National Day of July 14th with great fanfare each year. The festivities traditionally take place on the evening of July 13th at Place du Général de Gaulle, the vibrant heart of the town, which transforms for the occasion into a popular stage open to all.
The event is entirely free, true to the tradition of a July 14th celebration accessible to every family, every resident, every visitor. Place du Général de Gaulle, lined with the town hall and lively shops, provides an ideal setting to bring together several thousand people in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The evening in Fontenay-aux-Roses is structured around a sequence of highlights that gradually build in intensity. It begins at 7 PM with the opening of food stalls and the start of musical entertainment, driven by a DJ who sets the mood.
At 8 PM, a live music band takes the stage. In 2025, the band First performed covers of international classics, getting the large crowd singing and dancing. The concerts are designed to appeal to all generations, from rock and festive covers to French variety music.
The most anticipated moment arrives at 11 PM: a grand 3D laser show illuminates the town hall forecourt. This technological and artistic spectacle combines three-dimensional light effects, pyrotechnics, and projections on a water screen, creating a breathtaking visual show that Fontenay-aux-Roses residents eagerly await year after year. This type of show, rare in municipal celebrations in the Île-de-France region, is the great originality of the National Celebration in Fontenay-aux-Roses.
After the show, starting at 11:15 PM, the popular ball hosted by a DJ takes over and extends the celebration until 12:30 AM or later, in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
