The Fêtes de Seignosse: the village celebrating between pine trees and the ocean

Each late summer, the village of Seignosse, nestled between the pine forest and the Atlantic beaches, celebrates its local festivals over three intense days of festivities. A seaside resort renowned for its surf spots and lakes, Seignosse reveals another facet of its identity on this occasion: that of a Landes village deeply rooted in the festive traditions of the department.

Official Opening and Banda Parade

The festivities begin on Friday evening with the official opening, featuring the handing over of the town keys by the mayor, symbolizing the start of three days of revelry. The Banda Esperanza parades through the village streets, leading the festival-goers into a joyful brass band atmosphere. The opening aperitif brings together residents and holidaymakers in an immediate festive mood, before the first mussels and fries meal served outdoors.

Bodegas buzzing until the end of the night

The bodegas, set up in the village center, are the beating heart of Seignosse evenings. Open from 8:15 PM to 3 AM, they offer a convivial space to share drinks and tapas in a festive atmosphere. DJ-hosted dances take over from 10:30 PM, keeping the partygoers dancing until the early morning. Each evening offers a different musical ambiance, from variety to current hits.

A Dynamic Sporting Component

The Fêtes de Seignosse stand out for their extensive sports program. The Trail Landirun, a nature race organized on Sunday morning from 9 AM to 12 PM, attracts runners to the forest trails of Seignosse. The Saturday afternoon volleyball tournament (4:30 PM-7 PM) and the Sunday afternoon pétanque tournament bring together experienced players and amateurs in a relaxed atmosphere. These free sports activities are open to all.

Toro de fuego and Spectacular Entertainment

The toro de fuego on Sunday evening is one of the most spectacular moments of the festival. This festive tradition, where a fiery dummy bull is paraded through the streets, makes young and old run and laugh in an electric atmosphere. The Magic Bubbles entertainment on Sunday afternoon, with its giant soap bubbles, delights children and creates a poetic atmosphere in the heart of the village. Foodtrucks, set up on Sunday from 11:45 AM to 10:30 PM, offer a varied catering selection.

Landes Gastronomy and Conviviality

The festive meals are a central moment of the festivities. On Friday evening, mussels and fries are served at €13 per person. On Saturday, a €18 gastronomic meal offers regional specialties. These outdoor feasts, where people eat elbow-to-elbow with strangers who become table neighbors, embody the Landes spirit of sharing and conviviality.

Fireworks to End in Style

The fireworks on Saturday evening, set off at 10:30 PM, light up the Seignosse sky and mark the highlight of the festive weekend. This pyrotechnic show, visible from the village center, brings all participants together in a moment of shared contemplation before the final hours of celebration.
