About Trails du Pignada
The Trails du Pignada is an annual nature running event held every September in Soustons, Landes, organized by the FSGT-affiliated club AS Soustons Running. The event features three formats: a long trail, a shorter discovery trail, and free mini-trails for children and teenagers. The courses are 90% forest-based, winding through the municipal land between the Soustons lake and the pine forest. In 2025, the 4th edition hosted the FSGT French Nature Running Championship. The 5th edition will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with 20 km and 10 km races.
Trails du Pignada — edition 2026
The 5th edition of the Trails du Pignada will take place on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, in Soustons: 20 km Experts Trail at 9:15 AM, 10 km Discovery Trail at 9:45 AM, and free mini-trails for kids and teens at 9:50 AM. The courses are 90% forest-based, winding through the municipal estate between the lake and the pine forest. The event hub and finish line have moved to the Isle Verte leisure center.
Trails du Pignada 2026 — 5th Edition
AS Soustons Running is organizing the 5th edition of the Trails du Pignada on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, with the support of the town of Soustons and its volunteers. Three events are on the program: the 20 km Experts Trail, the 10 km Discovery Trail, and the children's and teens' mini-trails. The total number of participants is limited to 500 across both main trails.
The Courses
The race starts by the lake. After a flat first kilometer, runners enter the municipal forest, alternating between paths and single-tracks, before returning along the riverbank and crossing the footbridge to the finish. 90% of the circuits are in the forest. Aid stations are located at the 4th, 8th, 13th, and 18th kilometers for the Experts Trail, and at the 4th and 8th kilometers for the Discovery Trail. Registration
Online registration is handled via PB Organisation. The club's page indicates a closing date of Friday, September 18th at midnight, with the rules closing on Saturday, September 19th at 2:00 PM. On-site registration is possible on Sunday, September 20th from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM for the Experts Trail, and until 9:15 AM for the Discovery Trail and mini-trail, subject to availability. An FFA license or a Health Prevention Pass is required; minors must provide an FFA license or a health questionnaire signed by a parent.
Access and Facilities
New for 2026: the event hub, bib collection, and finish line are located at the Isle Verte leisure center, avenue Labouyrie. The starting line is 300m to 400m away from this area, so please allow extra time. Three parking lots are available: Isle Verte (200m away), Fontaine gymnasium (100m away), and avenue d'Huningue (400m away). A bag drop, finish-line refreshments, and a snack bar are provided. Chip timing is managed by PB Organisation.

Awards: Top 3 men and top 3 women overall for both trails, the winner of each category (excluding overall winners), the oldest athlete, and the most represented club.
Both trails take place 90% on forest paths within the municipal estate. The race starts by the lake, followed by a flat kilometer, then trails and single-tracks with some elevation gain, before returning along the bank and crossing the footbridge to the finish. The Experts Trail is open from Juniors to Masters (born in 2009 and earlier), and the Discovery Trail from Cadets to Masters (born in 2011 and earlier). The total number of runners is capped at 500 across both trails. This event is the final stage of the Landes trail challenge.

Discovery Trail (10 km): €11 online; on-site, €16 according to the rules or €15 according to the club's page.
Children's and teens' mini-trails (1.5 km, 2.5 km, and 4.5 km): free.
Additional booking fees apply for online registration via the PB Organisation website.
No refunds in case of cancellation. The organization offers to defer registration to the following year upon presentation of a medical certificate, for any request made at least 6 days before the event.

Check-in and Parking
As of 2026, race check-in, bib collection, and the finish line are located at the Isle Verte leisure center, avenue Labouyrie, in Soustons. Three parking areas are available nearby: Isle Verte (200 m away), the Fontaine gymnasium (100 m away), and avenue d'Huningue (400 m away). The starting line is 300 to 400 meters away depending on the organizer's documents, so please allow extra time to arrive on schedule.
Bib Collection
Bibs can be collected on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Sunday morning from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, upon presentation of your license or a copy of your Health Prevention Pass (Pass de Prévention Santé) along with a photo ID. A bag drop area is available on-site.
Licenses and Health Prevention Pass
Adult license holders must present a valid FFA license (Athlé Compétition, Athlé Entreprise, Athlé Running, or a 'Pass' J'aime Courir' signed by a doctor). Non-license holders must provide their Health Prevention Pass reference, which is valid for one year. Minors must provide an FFA license or the certificate issued after completing the health questionnaire with a parent. International participants must provide a medical certificate of no contraindication written in French.
On the Course
Strollers, bicycles, mountain bikes, wheeled devices, and animals are strictly prohibited on the courses. Wheelchairs are not permitted for safety reasons. Refreshment stations are reserved for competitors only. Any litter discarded outside of designated refreshment zones will result in disqualification. Race marshals are stationed along the route, and a first-aid station is set up near the finish line.

Every September, AS Soustons Running organizes the Trails du Pignada in the municipal forest of Soustons, with support from the town and local volunteers. The FSGT-affiliated club boasts 200 members, eight certified coaches, and four training sessions per week. The routes are 90% forest trails, running between the Soustons lake and the pine forest, with the start and finish lines located by the water.
Three formats, with distances that vary from year to year
The event includes a long trail, a discovery trail, and free mini-trails reserved for younger age groups (poussins, benjamins, and minimes). In 2026, the expert trail is 20 km and the discovery trail is 10 km; the 2025 edition featured 22 km and 11 km distances. Timing is managed via chip, and online registration is handled by PB Organisation, which also publishes the race results.
2025 FSGT French Championship
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the 4th edition hosted the FSGT French Nature Running Championship, entrusted to AS Soustons Running by the federation.
