International Festival of Current Affairs Grand Reportage and Social Documentary in Douai
FIGRA (Festival International du Grand Reportage d'Actualité) is a documentary film festival held annually in Douai since 1994. Nicknamed "Les Écrans de la Réalité" (Screens of Reality), it has become one of the major documentary events in France, presenting over 70 films, meetings with directors, masterclasses, and public debates. The festival awards the best grand reportages and social documentaries through several prizes awarded by juries of professionals and spectators.

Each edition of FIGRA presents over 70 films in competition and out of competition, selected from the best French and international documentary productions. The films are divided into several categories: International Competition +40 minutes, International Competition -40 minutes, Terre(s) d'Histoire (in partnership with INA), Autrement vu, and the Prix Coup de pouce.
Beyond screenings, FIGRA is a true place for exchange between directors, journalists, producers, and the public. Masterclasses, public debates, and special evenings punctuate the festival, offering spectators the opportunity to interact directly with the creators and reflect on the issues of today's world through the lens of documentary images.
FIGRA places a central focus on media literacy education, with educational screenings, meetings with directors, and workshops for young audiences. Over 1,600 students participate each year in school screenings and discussions about images, investigation, and media education.

Douai is accessible via the A21 motorway from Lille (35 km, approx. 30 minutes) and the A26 from Calais or Reims. Parking is available near Cinéma Le Majestic and in the Douai city center.
The Douai station is served by TER Hauts-de-France trains from Lille (25 min), Arras (20 min), Valenciennes (30 min), and Lens (15 min). Cinéma Le Majestic is a 15-minute walk from the station.
The Évéole bus network connects from Douai station and the surrounding areas.
Access to screenings at reduced prices (approx. 3 to 5 euros per session). Festival passes are available for all sessions at advantageous rates. Some screenings are free: school screenings, public debates, and meetings with directors. Tickets can be purchased on-site at Cinéma Le Majestic and on the festival's official website.
