The first big festival of the year in Argentan
Every January, the Champ de foire in Argentan lights up and comes alive for the Foire Saint-Vincent, the city's largest winter funfair. For over forty years, this popular tradition has kicked off the Argentan festival season and attracts thousands of visitors to enjoy the rides and festive atmosphere.
A traditional and friendly funfair
The Foire Saint-Vincent brings together many professional fairground operators who set up their attractions on the vast Champ de foire: thrill rides for adrenaline junkies, carousels and rides for younger children, shooting galleries, skill and chance games. Traditional fairground treats are also on offer: churros, waffles, croustillons, candy apples, and cotton candy delight both young and old.
An inaugural fireworks display
The opening of the fair is traditionally marked by a spectacular fireworks display that lights up the Argentan sky. This festive moment, eagerly awaited by residents, kicks off two to three weeks of celebration and brings families together for a moment of winter magic.
An unmissable family event
Open in the late afternoon on weekdays and all day on weekends, the Foire Saint-Vincent is an ideal family event. The affordable prices of the rides and free entry to the site allow everyone to enjoy the event. It's also an opportunity for the people of Argentan to meet up, brave the winter cold, and share a moment of conviviality amidst the lights and music of the funfair.
Strong historical roots
The Foire Saint-Vincent takes its name from the patron saint celebrated on January 22nd. Over the decades, it has become a strong identity element of Argentan life, marking the start of the new year with a time of celebration and sharing. The fairground operators, loyal to the event, maintain this tradition with passion and professionalism.
