Forges et Métallurgie — edition 2026
The 13th edition of the Forges et Métallurgie Festival will be held on July 25 and 26, 2026, in Étouars, in Périgord vert (Dordogne). Organized by the 3F-3M association around the village's old forges and foundries, this iron and steel heritage festival offers more than 40 workshop and demonstration points: blast furnace, bloomery furnaces, cast iron and bronze pouring, iron ore reduction, forging demonstrations, and artisan presentations.
13th edition of the Forges et Métallurgie Festival
On July 25 and 26, 2026, the village of Étouars hosts the 13th edition of its Forges et Métallurgie Festival, a key event celebrating the iron and steel heritage of Périgord-Limousin. The organizing association 3F-3M (Fire, Iron, Forges, Ores, Minerals, Metals) brings to life the know-how of the commune's ancient forges and foundries.

Access
The festival takes place on the Place du bourg d'Étouars (24360), about 10 km from Nontron.
- By car: D675 from Nontron towards Piégut-Pluviers, then D91 towards Étouars.

Reliving 2,000 years of metallurgy
The Forges et Métallurgie Festival, subtitled "2,000 years of history", is driven by the association 3F-3M (Fire – Iron – Forges – Ores – Minerals – Metals), which revives the history of the forges and foundries of Périgord-Limousin. The event takes place every summer in Étouars, a village located near Nontron, on the village square opposite the town hall.
Demonstrations and Know-how
The program includes iron and bronze casting, forge demonstrations by blacksmith-forgers, the operation of bloomery furnaces and blast furnaces, ore reduction, and exhibitions tracing the history of metallurgy in the region.
Industrial Heritage of Périgord
The festival includes guided tours of the royal forges of Forge Neuve and the Iron and Forges space, allowing visitors to discover the exceptional industrial heritage of Périgord-Limousin. Activities for children, a barbecue meal on Saturday evening, and a blacksmiths' lunch on Sunday complete the program.
