The annual meeting for hard rock and metal by the Seine
The Hard'N Rock Festival is a rock, hard rock, and metal festival organized every October in Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine (formerly Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon) in Seine-Maritime. Created in 2015 by the cultural association A.R.C.A.D.E., the festival offers an intense evening each year with four to five bands mixing local, national, and international acts from the rock and metal scene. In a municipal concert hall, Hard'N Rock offers fans of heavy music an accessible and friendly event in the heart of the Norman Seine valley.
In 2015, the cultural association A.R.C.A.D.E. from Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine launched the Hard'N Rock Festival, filling a gap in the local cultural offerings: an event entirely dedicated to rock, hard rock, and metal in the Norman Seine valley. The town, located between Rouen and Le Havre, is better known for its industrial-port area than for its music scene, but it is precisely in this authentic working-class environment that the festival finds its identity.
Eleven editions later, Hard'N Rock has become an anticipated event for heavy music fans in Normandy. The festival is held every year on a Saturday in October at the A.R.C.A.D.E. hall in Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine, with an intimate capacity that fosters proximity between the audience and the artists. The focused format — one evening, four to five bands — creates a musical crescendo throughout the night.
The Hard'N Rock Festival has built ambitious lineups mixing international headliners, national bands, and local acts. The festival has notably hosted Tygers of Pan Tang, an iconic figure of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal from the 1980s, Cobra Spell, an all-female glam metal band, Wildstreet, Harsh, Dog Temper, and Basket Case (Green Day tribute).
Each edition offers a journey through the subgenres of rock and metal: classic hard rock, heavy metal, thrash, glam, alternative rock, and tribute bands. The festival also provides a merchandising area where festival-goers can purchase vinyls, t-shirts, and collector's items from the bands and distributors present.
The choice of a concert hall rather than an outdoor festival gives Hard'N Rock a special atmosphere: the sound is controlled, the proximity to the artists is maximized, and the audience's energy is concentrated in an enclosed space that amplifies the intensity of the concerts. Doors open at 7 PM, concerts start between 7:30 PM and 8 PM and continue late into the night.
With its affordable prices (17 € presale, 20 € at the door) and its single-evening format, the Hard'N Rock Festival stands out as a must-attend event for metalheads and rockers from the Seine estuary.
