A festival of wonder in the heart of Lisieux
Founded in 2021 by the Lisieux bouge ! association, the Lisieux Grands Ouverts festival was born from a desire to bring the city of Lisieux to life through street arts and live performance. In partnership with the City of Lisieux, the festival takes over the city's streets, squares, and gardens every autumn for three days of shows, concerts, and performances for all ages.
Street arts, circus, and live performance
The Lisieux Grands Ouverts program covers all genres of artistic intervention in public spaces: contemporary circus, street theater, dance, music, visual arts, and performances. The lineup blends established companies with emerging artists, with a special focus on children's and family-friendly shows.
Free during the day, ticketed in the evening
One of the festival's unique features is its free daytime access, allowing all residents and visitors to enjoy street performances, art installations, and activities. The evening program, featuring concerts and shows in dedicated venues, requires a ticket. The Jardins de Mosaïc host part of the program, complete with a refreshment bar and food trucks.
Lisieux bouge !, the organizing association
The Lisieux bouge ! association was founded in 2021 by Pascale Barré and Antoine Fantin. It has around twenty active members and a hundred volunteers, and is supported by the Lisieux Town Hall. In addition to Lisieux Grands Ouverts, it organizes Rose Métal, an evening of rock concerts accompanied by performances from welding artists, as well as a photography festival spread across several locations in the city. The association is based at 36 rue Guizot in Lisieux (06 66 06 39 49).
