The Hiraku Festival was a hybrid and original event held at the Moulin de Brainans, a labeled contemporary music venue in Jura. This one-day festival offered a unique alliance between oenology, gastronomy, and contemporary music, creating a gathering for wine lovers, food enthusiasts, and those curious about new sounds.
The day began with a tasting fair featuring about fifteen winemakers (fourteen winemakers at the 2015 edition), offering living, natural, and terroir wines. This friendly fair allowed visitors to meet producers directly, taste their vintages, and discover estates often not widely distributed through classic channels. A screen-printed glass in the festival's colors was offered with admission to the fair.
The Moulin de Brainans is an old buckwheat mill from the early 20th century, converted into a contemporary music venue. Remains of millstones, gears, dams, and irrigations of the Orain canal bear witness to its industrial past. This atypical place, steeped in history, offered a unique setting for the festival.
The evening was dedicated to concerts and DJ sets. The 2015 edition brought together five bands and four DJs — among whom Duck Duck Grey Duck, Judah Warsky, Asagaya, Sapin and DJs Freakistan, Mr Duterche, Miqi O., and LTDLL — for an evening of contemporary music in the warm atmosphere of the Moulin.
