Saint-Brieuc, capital of the drum

The International Drum Festival of Saint-Brieuc is a unique event that celebrates the drum and percussion in all its forms. Organized by the national drum school Les Tambours de 89, it brings together drum, fife, and percussion ensembles from all over France and abroad.

Ensembles from around the world

Each edition, the festival hosts international percussion ensembles: batucadas, drum and fife corps, pipe bands, traditional and contemporary percussion groups. Among the participants in past editions: the Batucada Tropic Carolo Combo, the Fifres et Tambours du Conservatoire de Genève, the Tambours de 89 de Franche-Comté, the Ensemble de Percussions de l'Indre, and the Saint-Brieuc Pipe Band.

A popular celebration in the city

The program is structured around several highlights: entertainment in the neighborhoods and markets, parades and processions of ensembles in the city center, a gala concert in a hall, and a morning musical wake-up call in the neighborhoods. All entertainment is free and open to all.

A living tradition

The festival perpetuates and renews the tradition of the drum, a universal instrument present in all world cultures. It contributes to the influence of Saint-Brieuc as a reference city in the field of percussion.
