Literary Festival of Les Champs Libres in Rennes
Jardins d'Hiver is the literary festival of Les Champs Libres, in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). Jardins d'Hiver is a literary festival held in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine (Brittany). Created in 2018, it is organized by Les Champs Libres and has quickly established itself as an unmissable event in Rennes' cultural agenda. Every year in February, Les Champs Libres transforms into a garden dedicated to literature and the pleasure of reading.
The festival offers meetings with authors, musical readings, workshops, shows, games, and literary walks. Around thirty varied events are offered for all ages, at Les Champs Libres and then in the media libraries and cultural venues of Rennes Métropole until the end of February.

From February 6 to 8, 2026, Les Champs Libres transformed into a garden of literature for the 8th edition of Jardins d'Hiver. The program included: meetings with authors, musical readings, workshops, shows, games, and literary walks, for all audiences.
The 2026 edition gave pride of place to thrillers, detective novels, science fiction, and comic books. The program brought together many invited authors, including Jean-Baptiste Del Amo, Jakuta Alikavazovic, Nathacha Appanah, Florence Burgat, Ambre Chalumeau, Jérémy Clapin, and Fatima Daas.
Beyond the three days at Les Champs Libres, events were deployed in the media libraries and cultural venues of Rennes Métropole until the end of February. Access to the entire event was free, subject to availability.
