A high-altitude jazz festival
Since 1991, the Jazz à Luz festival has established itself as a must-see event for contemporary jazz in the Pyrenees. Nestled in the Luz-Saint-Sauveur valley, in the heart of the Pays Toy, this high-altitude festival offers an audacious program every summer, blending contemporary jazz, improvised music, and original creations. The Jazz Pyr' association drives this ambitious artistic project with the desire to resonate bold music in a magnificent natural setting.
A rich and eclectic program
Each edition of the festival offers around thirty concerts and shows spread over four days. The program highlights original creations, unique musical encounters, and emerging artists alongside established musicians. The festival unfolds in several emblematic venues in Luz-Saint-Sauveur and the villages of the Pays Toy, offering varied musical experiences: indoor concerts, outdoor performances, musical walks in the mountains, and shows for young audiences.
Concerts for all audiences
Jazz à Luz cultivates an open and accessible approach to contemporary jazz. The aperitif-concerts at the beginning of the evening allow the discovery of artists in a relaxed atmosphere, while the evening concerts offer more elaborate performances. The musical walks take the public to discover the mountains through music, creating unique moments where nature and art meet. The shows dedicated to young audiences allow families to share their passion for music together.
Strong territorial roots
Beyond the summer festival, the Jazz Pyr' association carries out cultural activities throughout the year in the Pyrénées Vallées des Gaves region. Seasonal tours, artist residencies, educational activities, and partnerships with local stakeholders make Jazz à Luz much more than just a festival: it is a true territorial project that contributes to the cultural influence of the valley and the vitality of local life.
The festival benefits from the support of the Occitanie Region, the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées, and local authorities, demonstrating its importance in the Pyrenean cultural landscape.
