Jazz festival in the heart of Pays d'Ouche in L'Aigle
The Jazz en Ouche Festival is a spring musical event that animates the town of L'Aigle and the Pays d'Ouche for five days. Organized by the City of L'Aigle, this festival showcases jazz in all its forms: concerts, jam sessions, photo exhibitions, jazz storytelling for children, and musical conferences. With a program combining international headliners and local discoveries, Jazz en Ouche helps keep jazz alive in rural Normandy in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
The Jazz en Ouche Festival has become a must-attend event for jazz lovers in Normandy. Organized by the City of L'Aigle, this spring festival takes over the town's venues and public spaces for five days, offering a complete immersion into the world of jazz.
The festival features about ten concerts and events mixing traditional jazz, gypsy jazz, gospel, blues, and improvised music. The 2025 edition notably hosted Irish singer Kaz Hawkins, the group Gospel Feel, the MNBigBand in a "Gainsbourg and Jazz" program, the group ZZAJ, and the Roller Brass Band at the L'Aigle market.
Beyond traditional concerts, Jazz en Ouche offers original and accessible formats: a photo exhibition dedicated to jazz, a jazz storytelling hour for children, a lively musical conference hosted by Alain Siard with the music school, and a concert by the Roller Brass Band parading through L'Aigle's weekly market.
Long scheduled in May, the festival moved to April for its latest edition, offering a wonderful way to welcome spring with music. This spring programming choice positions the festival as an opening to the cultural season in the Orne department.
Sub-prefecture of the Orne department, L'Aigle is a dynamic town in the Pays d'Ouche, known for its famous Tuesday market, one of the largest in Normandy. The Jazz en Ouche festival benefits from this dynamism and contributes to the cultural influence of the town and its region.
The Jazz en Ouche Festival is supported by the cultural department of the City of L'Aigle, which manages the programming and organization of the event. This municipal commitment demonstrates the desire to make culture a pillar of local development and regional attractiveness.
The 2026 Jazz en Ouche Festival will offer 5 exceptional days of music in L'Aigle. The program will be announced in early 2026.
