The JeuDiVin in Nîmes: the Costières summer event

Every summer in Nîmes, the JeuDiVin transform the Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle into an ephemeral and gourmet wine bar. Organized by the Syndicat des Vignerons de l'AOP Costières de Nîmes, this weekly event takes place every Thursday in July and August, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., in the heart of the city, facing the Roman arenas.

A tasting counter in the shade of the plane trees

The concept is simple and friendly. Equipped with a screen-printed glass and tasting tickets, the public strolls among the stands of about ten different estates or châteaux each week — more than 30 cuvées offered per Thursday, in the three colors of the Costières de Nîmes appellation: reds, rosés, and whites. The winemakers themselves are present to introduce their terroir of rolled pebbles and guide visitors towards the best food and wine pairings.

Wine, gastronomy, and music under the stars

Next to the tasting stands, gourmet counters offer specialties from the Gard region: petits pâtés de Nîmes, cheeses, charcuterie, sweet onion fritters from the Cévennes. Every Thursday evening, a live concert or a DJ set accompanies the evening until nightfall, in a relaxed summer after-work atmosphere.

An event integrated into the Jeudis de Nîmes

The JeuDiVin are part of the program of the Jeudis de Nîmes, the city's major summer event created in 1994 that enlivens the historic center every Thursday throughout the summer (markets, entertainment, concerts, exhibitions). The JeuDiVin are the wine and gastronomy component, organized directly by the appellation's winemakers.

The AOP Costières de Nîmes

Recognized as an appellation since 1986, the AOP Costières de Nîmes extends along the right bank of the Rhône to the gates of the Camargue, on soils of rolled pebbles swept by sea breezes. It brings together about sixty committed winemakers spread across 24 communes, who produce fresh and fruity wines, now recognized for their quality and identity.
