Feria des Vendanges
Feria, bullfighting tradition in Nîmes, Gard
2026
About Feria des Vendanges
The Feria des Vendanges is the autumn festival in Nîmes (Gard), in the Occitanie region. Established in 1978, it serves as the autumn counterpart—more intimate and family-oriented—to the Feria de Pentecôte, which began in 1952. Organized by the City of Nîmes on the third weekend of September, it combines bullfighting events at the Arènes de Nîmes with four days of free festivities throughout the city center, including street music, abrivados, equestrian shows, the Ban des Vendanges, exhibitions, bodegas, and casitas.
Feria des Vendanges — edition 2026
The 2026 Feria des Vendanges takes place from Thursday, September 17th to Sunday, September 20th in Nîmes. As the more intimate, family-oriented autumn counterpart to the Pentecost Feria, it features five bullfighting events at the Arènes de Nîmes—including the Corrida Carmen, a mano a mano between Alejandro Talavante and Andrés Roca Rey—along with four days of free city-center festivities: street music, abrivados, equestrian shows, the Ban des Vendanges, exhibitions, bodegas, and casitas.
Feria des Vendanges 2026 in Nîmes
The Feria des Vendanges returns from Thursday, September 17th to Sunday, September 20th, 2026 in Nîmes (Gard). For four days, the city pulses with the rhythm of bullfighting and Camargue traditions, offering an atmosphere widely considered more authentic and family-friendly than its autumn-season predecessor, the Pentecost Feria. The City of Nîmes has announced a program packed with street music, corridas, abrivados, bullfighting and cultural spaces, equestrian shows, the Ban des Vendanges, and exhibitions.
Five Bullfighting Events at the Arènes
The lineups were unveiled on July 20, 2026, at the Nîmes City Hall by Simon Casas and Mayor Vincent Bouget. From Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 20th, the Arènes will host four corridas and one novillada. The Corrida Carmen kicks off the feria on Friday the 18th at 5:30 PM with a mano a mano between Alejandro Talavante and Andrés Roca Rey. On Sunday the 20th at 11:00 AM, Marco Pérez will face six bulls from various breeders alone.
Four Days of Festivities Throughout the City
The feria is free to access in the city center: street abrivados, equestrian shows, the Ban des Vendanges with its folk parade of decorated carriages and equestrian associations, exhibitions, and bodegas animated by peñas, as well as casitas where you can share paella, gardiane de taureau, and churros. The detailed schedule for street events will be published by the City of Nîmes at nimes.fr closer to the event.
Ticketing
Events at the Arènes are ticketed separately: official ticketing via the Arènes de Nîmes (Casas & Co). Individual tickets go on sale online from August 10th to August 30th, 2026, and then at the ticket office at 4 rue de la Violette starting August 31st.

The Feria des Vendanges in Nîmes
Along with the Feria de Pentecôte, the Feria des Vendanges is one of the two major bullfighting events in Nîmes. Created in 1978 as an autumn follow-up to the spring festival founded in 1952, it takes place around the third weekend of September, coinciding with the grape harvest. It has maintained a more local and family-friendly atmosphere than its spring predecessor.
The Arènes and the City
The festival unfolds across two complementary stages. At the Arènes de Nîmes, the Roman amphitheater, the company Casas & Co organizes corridas and novilladas. Throughout the streets, boulevards, and squares of the historic center, the City of Nîmes hosts street bands and peñas, abrivados where gardians and attrapaïres challenge each other around the bulls, equestrian performances, exhibitions, and the Ban des Vendanges, a folkloric parade featuring decorated carriages and equestrian associations.
Bodegas, Casitas, and Gastronomy
As evening falls, the party continues in the bodegas, where people dance to the sound of peñas, and in the casitas set up along the boulevards. Visitors can enjoy specialties from the Camargue and Gard regions, such as paella, gardiane de taureau, tapas, and churros from the esplanade.
A Late Summer Highlight
For four days, Nîmes lives to the rhythm of bullfighting and Camargue traditions. Access to the festival in the city streets is free; only the events inside the Arènes require a ticket. The full program is published annually by the City of Nîmes at nimes.fr, and the bullfighting schedules (cartels) are provided by the Arènes de Nîmes.
