The French Championship of the Course Camarguaise

Created in 1952, the Trophée des As rewards the raseteur who has distinguished themselves most throughout the season. The very first final was held in Beaucaire and won by André Douleau. The competition is overseen by the Fédération française de la course camarguaise, with rankings determined by the Trophée taurin Midi Libre – La Provence commission. The Cocarde d'or in Arles counts toward the trophy.

A Final Alternating Between Nîmes and Arles

Since 1953, the final has been held every other year at the Nîmes arenas and the Arles arenas. Zakaria Katif won in Nîmes in 2024, and Joachim Cadenas in Arles in 2025. In 2020, due to the Covid pandemic, no trophy was awarded.

In Nîmes, the final is organized by Casas & Co, which has managed bullfights and courses camarguaises at the Roman amphitheater since 2025.

A Qualifying Season Across the Camargue

The Trophée des As is contested throughout the season in arenas across the Gard, Hérault, and Bouches-du-Rhône departments, where raseteurs face bulls from Camargue manades. The 2025 Trophée niveau As ranking, published by the federation, was led by Joachim Cadenas (478 points), followed by Vincent Marignan (424) and Youssef Zekraoui (298).
