About Joséphine Baker Festival

Every year, the Joséphine Baker Festival brings together a book fair and a series of panel discussions at the Château des Milandes, focusing on republican values, historical memory, and the fight against racism and antisemitism. Founded by the Licra, the event gathers authors, journalists, and public figures to honor the memory of Joséphine Baker, a French Resistance hero and former owner of the château.
