The vintage and rock'n'roll festival in the heart of Nièvre
Created by the association Intaranum, the Journées Lucien pay tribute to Lucien, the iconic French comic strip character created by Frank Margerin in 1979. This rocker with a pompadour and a perfecto, who has become a popular culture icon, embodies the rebellious yet good-natured spirit that animates this original festival, nestled in the charming village of Entrains-sur-Nohain, in northwestern Nièvre.
The Journées Lucien spans two days, the first weekend of August, offering a program that skillfully blends comics, rock music, and vintage culture. Frank Margerin himself will be present for signing sessions and an exhibition of his works, giving fans the opportunity to meet the creator of Lucien, Ricky Banlieue, and the whole gang.
Rock'n'roll concerts with a sixties vibe form the musical heart of the festival. Rock, rockabilly, and rhythm'n'blues bands revive the energy of the 1950s and 1960s, inviting the public to dance until the early hours in an electrifying and joyful atmosphere.
The festival hosts a gathering of vintage scooters and vehicles (pre-1980), transforming the streets of Entrains-sur-Nohain into an open-air exhibition of Vespas, Lambrettas, American cars, and vintage motorcycles. Collectors and vintage enthusiasts will find their delight with stalls selling vinyl records, comic books, furniture, and vintage clothing.
Foosball tournaments add a fun and friendly touch to the event, while on-site catering offers specialties suited to the festive spirit.
Entrains-sur-Nohain, whose Latin name Intaranum gave its name to the organizing association, is a village rich in remarkable Gallo-Roman history. The Journées Lucien contribute to the visibility of this endearing commune and the animation of the Nièvre region during the summer period.
