L'Été Musical en Bergerac, also known as the Festival du Périgord Pourpre, is a classical music festival founded in 1988. Driven by a team of passionate volunteers, it offers a diverse program each August, blending classical music, jazz, traditional music, dance, and theater. Concerts and performances take place in prestigious heritage sites in the Périgord Pourpre region.
Since 1988, L'Été Musical en Bergerac has been a key cultural event in the Périgord Pourpre. Created and run by a team of volunteers, the festival offers high-quality performances in remarkable heritage locations in the region: castles, churches, cloisters, and historic gardens.
The program blends classical music with international soloists, ensembles, orchestras, and choirs, as well as jazz, traditional music, dance, and theater. The festival regularly hosts world-renowned artists, creating unique musical moments in an exceptional setting.
Concerts are held in remarkable sites in the Périgord Pourpre: the Cloître des Récollets in Bergerac, Château de Biron, Château de Monbazillac, the medieval bastides of Monpazier and Beaumont, and numerous Romanesque churches in the region.
