About Côle Medieval Festival

Every year, the La Côle Medieval Festival brings together a historical lecture, an early music concert, and a medieval dance workshop in Saint-Pierre-de-Côle, all centered around a new theme for each edition. In 2024, Katy Bernard, a medievalist from the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, gave a talk tracing the songs from William of Aquitaine to Eleanor, followed by a concert by the La Flama ensemble dedicated to 12th-century Occitan troubadours; a medieval dance workshop and a patchwork exhibition on the theme of troubadours rounded out the weekend.

Côle Medieval Festival — edition 2026

The 18th edition of the Festival médiéval de la Côle will take place on October 10th and 11th, 2026, in Saint-Pierre-de-Côle. This year's theme is Romanesque art, following last year's focus on the Silk Road.

An annual celebration of the Middle Ages

The festival is held at the village hall in Saint-Pierre-de-Côle (Dordogne). Each edition follows a specific theme: the Silk Road in 2025, and Romanesque art in 2026. Past editions have combined academic lectures, medieval music concerts, and dance workshops, accompanied by a thematic exhibition.
