About Côle Medieval Festival
Every year, the La Côle Medieval Festival brings together a historical lecture, an early music concert, and a medieval dance workshop in Saint-Pierre-de-Côle, all centered around a new theme for each edition. In 2024, Katy Bernard, a medievalist from the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, gave a talk tracing the songs from William of Aquitaine to Eleanor, followed by a concert by the La Flama ensemble dedicated to 12th-century Occitan troubadours; a medieval dance workshop and a patchwork exhibition on the theme of troubadours rounded out the weekend.
Côle Medieval Festival — edition 2026
The 18th edition of the Festival médiéval de la Côle takes place on October 10th and 11th, 2026, in Saint-Pierre-de-Côle, focusing on the theme of Romanesque art. The weekend features a medieval music concert by Nicolas Fendt and a lecture by Bernard Mazière on Romanesque sculpture, alongside artisans, demonstrations, and two exhibitions.

An annual celebration of the Middle Ages
The festival is held at the village hall in Saint-Pierre-de-Côle (Dordogne). Each edition follows a specific theme: the Silk Road in 2025, and Romanesque art in 2026. Past editions have combined academic lectures, medieval music concerts, and dance workshops, accompanied by a thematic exhibition.
