La Diagonale du Doubs: The Great VTT Event of the Saône Plateau

Created in 1996, La Diagonale du Doubs has become one of the emblematic sporting events of the Doubs department. Organized by A.M.I.C.A.L.E. de Saône with the support of Grand Besançon Métropole, this sporting hike takes place every year on the last Sunday of April on the Saône plateau and in the Loue valley.

A Sporting Offer for All Levels

La Diagonale du Doubs stands out for the diversity of its routes, accessible to athletes of all levels:

VTT — 5 Circuits

• 20 km: Discovery route, ideal for beginners and families
• 30 km: Intermediate route on the plateau trails
• 45 km: Sporting circuit between forests and valleys
• 60 km: Demanding route with significant elevation gain
• 70 km: The grand route for experienced mountain bikers

Cyclo — 3 Routes

• 50 km: Discovery loop on departmental roads
• 90 km: Sporting route across the plateau
• 125 km: The grand tour for endurance cyclists

Gravel and Hiking

• Gravel 50 km: Mixed road and trail route
• 8 km and 16 km Hikes: Walks through the landscapes of the Saône plateau

A Hike, Not a Race

The philosophy of La Diagonale du Doubs is clear: it is a friendly hike, without timing or ranking. The goal is the pleasure of riding through magnificent landscapes, sharing a sporting moment with friends or family, and enjoying the warm welcome of the volunteers.

A Community Event

More than 350 volunteers mobilize to ensure the smooth running of the event. Regional refreshments punctuate the routes, offering Franche-Comté specialties. Upon arrival, a pasta party, entertainment, and sports exhibitors welcome participants in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
