The night Honfleur lights up with artistic creations
Since 2015, the Nuit des Artistes has celebrated the centuries-old artistic tradition of Honfleur, a city that inspired masters like Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet, Gustave Courbet, and Erik Satie. Organized by the City of Honfleur at the initiative of Mayor Michel Lamarre, this free event takes over the streets, squares, galleries, and studios of the Norman city on the first Saturday of August.
For one evening, Honfleur's art galleries and artist studios open their doors late into the night. Visitors are welcomed with refreshments and have the opportunity to meet the artists, watch live demonstrations, and discover works in an intimate and warm setting. Artist collectives, shopkeepers, and residents liven up their respective streets.
La Nuit des Artistes offers a varied program of artistic performances in the streets and squares of Honfleur: musicians, dancers, visual artists, performers, and street artists take over the Vieux Bassin, the Lieutenance, and the picturesque alleys of the city. Ephemeral installations and light projections complete this magical night.
Honfleur has over 80 galleries and artist studios, making it one of the most artistic cities in France. La Nuit des Artistes highlights this exceptional richness and helps strengthen the bond between artists, residents, and visitors in a unique heritage setting: half-timbered houses, the Vieux Bassin, the Sainte-Catherine church, and picturesque quays.
The 10th edition of La Nuit des Artistes will take place on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, in Honfleur, on the first Saturday of August as every year. Open galleries, performances, concerts, and street shows in the historic center of the Norman city, from 5 PM to 10 PM.
